The form of the pavilion is derived from it’s roof curvature that is dissected by a series of flat planes all tangentially connected to each other. Together, they gather all the positive and negative curvature into clusters of voids to absorb varying directions of curves of the roof surface. The voids are then transformed into truncated pyramids projecting the roof curvature from it’s centerpoint to the ground. As a result, each pillar is characterized by slightly different angles, directions, and shape, but still are all in relationship to each other, sprouting from one single geometry, ultimately, creating a structure that is static but embodies a dynamism that transforms each time the player’s perspective changes. We encourage each player to experience the space from both far away and at the center, inside and out of pillars, under and over the roof surface to view the architecture and environment in its full capacity.
